Why We Worship The Way We Do

As Christians, our praise and worship is based on the Word of God.  If this is your first visit with us, please feel free and welcomed to praise the Lord!!—All others are at home, so let the redeemed of the Lord say so (YES).

Our Desire 

• “O God, thou are my God; early will I seek thee, my soul thirsts for thee, my flesh longs for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.  Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.” (Psalms 63:1-3)

Our Purpose 

• “Even every one that is called by my name I have created him for my glory, I have formed him, yes, I have made him.  This people have I (God) formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise.”  Isaiah 43:7,21
• “Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.” (Psalms 148:5)
  

We Worship In Spirit Because … 

• “…true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:  for the Father seeks such to worship Him.  God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”  John 4:23-24
  
• Scripture teaches, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”  Psalms 150:6
  

We Pray Because… 

• “After this manner therefore pray ye:  Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”  Matthew 6:9-10
  
• “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Timothy 2:8
  
• “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.  What is it then?  I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with understanding also.” 1 Corinthians. 14:14-15
  

We Worship with Instruments Because… 

• “Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the psaltery and harp.  Praise Him with timbrel and dance. Praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.  Praise Him upon the loud cymbals:  Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.”Psalms 150:3-5

We Stand When We Sing Because… 

• “And the Levites…of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high”- 2 Chronicles 20:19
  

We Clap Our Hands Because… 

• “O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.  For the Lord most high is awesome; he is the great King over all the earth.”  Psalms 47:1-2
  

We Lift Our Hands Because… 

• “Thus I will bless Thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in Thy name.”  Psalms 63:4
  

We Praise God in Audible Voice Because… 

• “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praises shall continually be in my mouth.”  Psalms 34:10
  
• “By him (Jesus) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to him name.” Hebrews 13:15
  

We Sing Choruses, Hymns and Spiritual Songs Because… 

• “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing making melody in your heart to the Lord.”  Ephesians 5:18-19
  

We Worship in the Dance Because… 

• “Let them praise him name in the dance, let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp.” Psalms 149:3
  

We Worship in Our Giving Because… 

• “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase; So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”  Proverbs 3:9-10
  

We Rejoice When We Praise and Worship Because…

• “Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice. “  Philippians 4:4
  
• “Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” 2 Corinthians 3:17
